We represent children, parents and other family members where the children are involved with Social Services whether voluntarily accommodated or in care and related proceedings. This will include assisting children/parents at Child Protection Conferences/Reviews; where the child(ren) has been taken or is about to be taken into care; whether the child(ren) may be placed for adoption; and where an adult is seeking contact with a child.
The Family Law team at Hudgell & Partners have a strong track record in the field of adoption applications and provide advice in a range of adoption situations including adoption from within the family, from overseas, and from care. Accustomed to dealing with courts, social workers, judges and barristers, we work with clients to minimise delay and distress throughout the adoption process.
We represent and advise children, parents and family members in parental responsibility, residence, contact (both to parents and other family members), education and overseas travel.
We represent parents where children are abducted to and from the UK. We as solicitors are experienced in such cases and we understand the need to act quickly and efficiently in such cases.
Parental Responsibility Orders
A Parental Responsibility Order provides you with the ability to make decisions about your children’s welfare even if they are not living with you. This means you have a right to be kept informed about your children’s education, health, welfare and you can make decisions about their education, health and welfare. The Family Team at Hudgell & Partners will help you obtain it and have it validated by the officers of the court or a magistrate before sending it to the Principal Registry of the Family Divison.
Legal Aid is provided to cover the costs of childcare proceedings. Where this is not the case, Hudgell & Partners provide a private service with a clear, concise and regular explanation of costs for clients.
